Narrative Design, Worldbuilding, Concept Art
In order to expand and improve my skill set, I participated in ELVTR's Video Game Writing course in May 2024. Under the guidance of its defined pipeline, I actively engaged with interdisciplinary creatives for iteration and feedback. My adaptability helped me overcome my difficulty in "killing my darlings" as I honed my skills in narrative design, worldbuilding, and screenwriting. I've also learned to use ProCreate to do original concept art illustrations as a complementary skill.

Final Promise
Game Design, Narrative Design
Under the theme of "Emotions", I designed this game based on a story I've heard in my childhood. I learned to use Clickteam Fusion 2.5 as a new tool for rapid prototyping, and used free 2D assets for the game's level. The emotions I aimed to invoke - "grief", "fear" and "helplessness" - resonated well with players during playtesting, in which I asked for feedback immediately post-game. Some pointed out the over-explicit ending could be improved. One remarked how the innocent design and slow giant rockets in the level helped augmented the perspective of a chilid - an unintended design.
